Like I Said, A Couple Of Posts Down

The problem inherent in backing one political party over another is obvious. The Republicans had this problem in 2000. many of them, unhappy with their candidate, simply held their noses and voted for him anyway, because in their mind, the alternative was worse. And so, vote fraud notwithstanding, they elected what has come to be known as the worst presidency in the history of the US. Of course, some of them, following a false flag "terror" attack on our country, were sucked in and began defending his actions, no matter how morally wrong or unconstitutional. They had to because he was their man.
When I started blogging, they were all over the net, responding to any criticisms with out logic, with out reason, with out sanity. Slowly, they began to see we were right. They ran to the comfort of their like minded set, grumbling about the "wing-nuts", but less and less, defending the presidency they helped wrought on this country.
And now, history is repeating itself, only this time, it's the Democrats. many of them have said they wil hold their noses and vote for a candidate who refuses to commit to a pledge to renew the Constitution. A simple pledge:
"We are Americans, and in our America we do not torture, we do not imprison people without charge or legal remedy, we do not tap people's phones and emails without a court order, and above all we do not give any President unchecked power. I pledge to fight to protect and defend the Constitution from attack by any President."

Every other Democratic candidate has signed it, save one. Would you still vote for this person?

Wow, I didn't know about this, but I'm not totally surprised. I don't know what I'll do if she gets the nomination. McCain isn't a better choice either. I may have to sit the election out.

I hope you don't mind, but I posted your above article on a supremely, but almost unnoticed, anonymous, conservative web site. I Just copied and pasted the whole article, and then include a link, not sure if it will turn up blue. I sensed the accepting site’s code might be different then "normal" websites; So I flat posted to avoid the possibility of a dead link.
The website is also a seemingly juvenile one, flirting with adult life, yet still I believe the very, very small mix of late thirties and early forty’s Republican friends adds a quality of accuracy to an outside view , of the shared mindset and involvement level ( very low for those avoiding the research) of young and old Republicans in this nation’s political process.
In a nutshell, not enough republicans, especially the youth and middle age group, not enough of them will actually vote, because many of them are extremely discontent in the way this nation is economically heading. .They won’t consider Ron Paul because he is not endorsed by the corporate elite, the .05 % of the nation. Those apposed drink Coca-Cola not because of how it tastes, but because it is 100% American.
I did this not because it would cause comments on the SCG”S, but I did post your writing because I have lost touch with the afore mentioned ( I have gray hair) sites reality, and have become attuned, although much , much more conservatively then its author, with your general philosophy on life. I don’t endorse your blog, but every 10 posts or so you say something important.
I hope this does not result in me making less money; but so be it.
I am an active duty soldier.

kathy: In the long run, I think it is better to vote Green than to sit it out. It will build an alternative to the Democrats and Republicans, and it gives the Democrats a strong signal of how they have to change.

I've been hearing on Democracy Now about how politicians in both parties try to reduce turnout to make it easier for them to remain in control.
