Forgive Bill O'Reilly, He Knows Not What He Does

Today, while stopping at Sweet Jesus I Hate Bill O'Reilly , one of my favorite internet stops right after WRH and Lose The Noose , I followed a link to a story in the Tampa Bay Tribune. In the article, entitled What Would Jesus Buy At Wal Mart? they mentioned that Bill O'Reilly is still hawking his "Boycott France" bumper stickers. Apparently, Mr. O'Reilly (who claims to be some sort of Christian), has not forgiven France for refusing to vote for the invasion of Iraq in the UN Security Council, preferring to wait to let the weapon inspectors do their job. And I'm sure that are lots of window licking mouth breathing retards out there who refer to french fries as "freedom fries" or "American Fries" because, well, I don't know, maybe because they're brain damaged?
I mean if France had gotten it's way, UN weapons inspectors would have found no WMD, just like the US hasn't found any in the nearly three years we have been illegally occupying that country. Because they didn't fucking exist! So if they were never there to begin with, why is Bill O'Reilly still so cheesed off at France? I mean, they are a bit snooty towards Americans, but I can understand that, we're all a bunch of uncultured NASCAR watching morons. And, more importantly, why hasn't he been able to forgive them, being the Christian he claims to be?
I often wonder if Bill O'Reilly does attend church services on a regular basis. Part of being a Christian is to come together in Jesus' name and celebrate God's love, right? Part of the sharing of God's love is forgiving those who have committed transgressions against you. Mr. O'Reilly, who spent the better part of the Christmas season ready to pillory anyone who had the audacity to say"Happy Holidays", in case the other person should be, I don't know, Jewish, shows that he is severely lacking in Christ's love and the ability to forgive, even when a country like France has done nothing wrong. Yet his campaign to boycott France shows that he is lacking the compassion that marks some one whose soul is saved because they have accepted Jesus H. Christ as their personal saviour.
In my opinion, Mr O'Reily is just another in long line of Conservative Christian hypocrites, asswipes who invoke Jesus' name when convenient but never exercise any of the values put forth by Christianity, such as for forgiveness. Not that France needs to be forgiven, the only people who have transgressed in this situation is the Bush administration and all the brainwashed braindead flag waving beer swiling chemically imbalancedNascar watching window licking retards who still call french fries by any other name. And I don't blame Mr. O'Reilly if he chooses not to attend a church service, who wants to get up early Sunday morning to hear about how they're going to Hell?

Where to start? First, there is an element of hypocrisy to far more than that- what glares at me are not the benign petty boycotts of that fuckhead but the serious ignorance on matters of planet destruction, nuclear proliferation, and resource gouging. Having spent an enjoyable time in Europe, I discovered that there are some significant reasons as to why they think we suck: self proclaimed moral authority, hypocrisy, refusal to play nice or share, disproportionate pollution and resource use compared to the rest of the world, wealth- and yet poor performance in real measures of quality of life such as health, infant mortality, literacy... see they often view America as the teenager that thinks she knows everything and is invincible, driving fast and drunk with no concept of our own context in the world or any responsibility for our actions. We cannot see the forest for the trees, we cannot listen, we cannot see. The Bush doctrine is characterized by protection of our material way of life and our policy remains the suppression of those regimes or entities that threaten not our freedom or liberty (since our own governement does plenty to restrict that-) but rather our shallow materialistic consumptive culture. The Europeans know that our way of life is accelerating the demise of the world with implications for ALL inhabitants, not only Americans. Consequently people in Europe feel a moral imperative to oppose the agenda of the US. They do not think in a bubble the way we do.
O Reilly matters only in that he is a loud voice and commands our attention because people listen to him. The only way to undermine him is not by talking truth, but by making him 'unfashionable". He markets hating Frech people like a concept- the left must market the utter stupidity of Faux news as a 'trend' as well. Trying to use facts against propaganda rarely works IMO. These past few years have seen some stellar examples of that.
Do you think facts will get people to drive a hybrid? No. But throw Cameron Diaz in one... different story. So do we rage against that or participate?

I agree with you 100%. The purpose (or one of them)of this blog is to point out that, unfortunately, the masses are brainwashed, those who watch Faux news in particular. i was watching a doc last wek called The Corporation, in it one fact I gleaned is that it is not against the law for the media to lie to people. Immoral, unethical yes, but no law is being broke. Which of course led me to the famous qoute by Adolph Hitler, "It is easy to get people to believe a big lie than it is a small one." The number of Faux news watchers who believe that WMD were found in Iraq are astounding!
Meanwhile, the brainwashed masses think they are free, when in fact, every day the Bush administration takes a little more of their freedom away in the name of "security" from a threat I do not think exists. there are no terrorists in this country, any foreigner attempting to attack America is immediately corrupted by it, look at the 9/11 suspects, who spent the night before drinking in a strip club (two things that devout Muslims about to die for seventeen virgins in paradise would not do)as an example. And we are not fighting terrorists in Iraq, we are fighting an insurgency. Terrorists are groups like Hamas, whose political voice in their own country has been silenced and they have been relegated second class citizenship in their own native land. They have no choice than to do as they do, the Sharon government refuses to allow them the same rights that Israelis have.
If someone from our cult of personality were to point that out, they would be labeled an anti-semite and blacklisted from working in the entertainment industry. That's why our celebrities are given fast cars (and Hummers)by the automotive industry, and those who drive hybrids (such as Ed Begley Jr.) are openly ridiculed. The puppet masters know how suggestible the brainwashed masses are.

And you mention a good point about ethics and journalism-or lack thereof. Even if there were standards of truth, who would enforce them? We have standards that the EPA or FDA are supposed to enforce but they do not. There is no 'truth in recruitment' act either in America, a bank has more obligation to discuss truth under "truth in lending" laws than a recruiter has when it comes to military service. In America, we seem to think that disclosure on a mortgage is more important than what gets promised to a high school kid. Take for example, the way the kids are not told that the military can test vaccines on them and do trials without their knowledge or consent. Take also the fact that they are lied to about the GI Bill and the ease of obtaining an education. The restrictions and expectations are not spelled out, they think the money just gets handed to them. They are promised valuable skills and training that will help them later in life, despite the fact that much research suggests that the skills are not readily transferrable.
And after their bodies are tested on, abused, their hopes of college money destroyed when they find out they must pay INTO the GI Bill program from their meager earnings... they also face the precious gift of a baby with chromosomal abnormalities from their exposure to Depleted Uranium. And denial of VA claims.
These are verifiable issues- I have had copies of documents with me along with Veteran representatives to ask recruiters how they answer these questions. They were very frank in telling me that they are tuaght how to answer these questions. Much like a used car salesman is taught how to cover selling a lemon to a mom with kids. They are trained to forget the moral dilemma and implications of their lies on families. They are taught how not to care about truth. They have a mission: get kids. Even if it means buying them an X-Box.
Where's the truth there? They deny MKULTRA, DU... dance around Tuskegee... what is more deplorable than making a career out of lying to children to meet a quota? If their programs are so stellar, why must they be so deceptive?
So I hear you about truth and facts, but sadly America has a piss-poor record when it comes to facts and the citizen's right to know much of anything. -Lily

I hear you! One of my earliest posts was titled "Depleted Uranium and You: What your recruiter won't tell you". One only needs to listen to Cindy Sheehan, she'll tell you what scumbags these recruiters are! How they can sleep after promising kids stuff they know the army isn't going to deliver is beyond me, obviously it takes a man with low morals (or a drinking problem) to do it. Just another example of how America claims to be a Christian Country, yet the people within it do not act like Christians at ALL! So what's Bill O'Reilly so pissed off about?

Well I can't go off on the hypocrisy of Christians/oReilly thing again today. I'm too short fused. But- to return to the recruitmet issue. How does one actually become a recruiter? Is it punishment for something? Like, if you duct tape somebody's ass in bootcamp?

I'm not sure, but there are some interesting links in the comment section under my "DU and You" post. Maybe I'll repost it as I was researching another story about DU anyway and add to it what I had uncovered so far.
