McCain's Health Care Policy Is Nothing But Sunscreen

(Tip o' the cap to the wonderful folk at The Carpetbagger Report)
In a speech last week, Sen. John McCain outlined his health care proposal:
He urged "all Americans to wear sunscreen, particularly this summer, to stay out of the sun as much as possible

Now McCain has a position that’s frankly ludicrous. He suggested if we all wore sunscreen, hat we would solve the problem. Think about it. You ought to take that clip. I think that clip is far more devastating than today because it’s loony toons. What is he thinking?
Sure, wearing sunscreen may prevent burns that may lead to melanoma, but does nothing to help the nearly 47 million Americans with out health insurance coverage, nor does it do anything to stop the rising cost of health care for all Americans. In fact his whole policy is just one big handout to Big Pharma. Americans need solutions for existing problems, not ones that may occur down the road. It's as if suggesting keeping our tires inflated will solve all energy problems.

I don't support McCain, but I wonder if this is his only imput on the issue of healthcare? Probably has nothing to do with him having suffered from skin cancer; but ignoring that, is this really all he has suggested we do to make an impact on this nations healthcare crisis?
I doubt it.

mark,
This is obviously a spoof (hence the lampoon tag at the bottom), mocking the McCain campaign which took a statement Obama made out of context concerning keeping tires inflated to save gas, and tried to turn it into a representation of Obama's energy policy. Since turnabout is fairplay, I took a statement McCain made out of context, and turned it into his health care policy.

Nice lampoon, Lew!

That does it, McCain gets my vote.

Sunscreen -- who'da thunk it? What a great cure-all. Now I don't need no steenking health insurance any more.

And his solution to the energy crisis is pure genius. If we start drilling for oil offshore and in ANWR, gas prices will tumble back to 32 cents a gallon by next week. Oh Boy!

That would be SPF -50 wouldn't it?

I was just about ready to ask "Why isn't this getting all the press that Obama's tire pressure comment got?" Then I thought I had better look at the comments first... Heh! Good one, Lew!
