The Selective Amnesia Of The Cheney Family

Does Dick Cheney have Alzheimer's? Did he contract it from his years of association with Ronald Reagan? In recently released FBI documents of an interview with then Vice President Cheney, he claimed that he has no idea" who leaked Plame's name to Bob Novak, he does not recall any discussion with Libby of perceived nepotism associated with Wilson's selection for the CIA assignment, and that the vice president is relatively certain that he spoke to someone about the article but he cannot remember exactly who it was.(UPDATE:A list of 22 things Cheney can't recall about the Plame affair) Which is pretty much the same testimony Reagan gave in the Iran-Contra case.
Well, if Alzheimer's isn't contagious, it certainly is hereditary. Take Cheney's daughter, Liz (Please). When President Obama went to Dover AFB to honor returning fallen soldiers, she shot back "I think that what President Bush used to do is do it without the cameras. And I don't understand sort of showing up with the White House Press Pool with photographers and asking family members if you can take pictures. That's really hard for me to get my head around...It was a surprising way for the president to choose to do this."
What she fails to remember is that President Bush never met returning caskets at Dover, EVER. Neither did her father. With cameras, or not, the previous administration loved to send US troops to die, make money for their crony friends doing it, and never having to be reminded of the end result of their handiwork. In fact, in 2004, Bush wanted to slash over one billion dollars from the Veteran Affairs budget.
So I guess it's okay for Liz Cheney to blather on about things she chooses not to remember, it's her right as an American. The problem here is that in their mad rush to torpedo the efforts of the Obama administration to undo all the evil inflicted by the previous administration (which is certainly no mad rush unto itself), the Fox "news" organization will put anyone on who is willing to lie or selectively remember events to cast an unflattering light on them to further their corporate right wing agenda.

There's No End To That Dick

Dick Cheney, what a guy. Loves to torture, runs his own death squads, and now, according to Seymour Hersh, he has planted moles in the Obama administration. I guess elections don't apply to Dick Cheney.
Not that the moles can affect policy too much, but these Cheney/Rumsfeld loyalists report to him and keep him informed of what's going on. I imagine Cheney in his undisclosed location, large conference table filled with lackeys with files detailing how close the new administration is coming to uncovering some of the many crimes committed by Cheney while he had his hands on the reins of power (Come on! You don't think that Bush was running anything, do you?)
So even though the American people overwhelmingly told the Bush administration to go fuck themselves, Cheney decided he wasn't going to listen to them. Either that, or he's just looking for a way to get more no-bid contracts for Halliburton.

The Altered State Of Richard B. Cheney

AIG is planning to use $450 million of the second round of economic stealfromus to pay bonuses to "attract and retain the best and brightest talent to lead and staff the AIG businesses", you know, the ones that led the company to the verge of bankruptcy. I guess they're not the ones to blame for the current economic fiasco.
And neither is the Bush administration, according to it's chief criminal, Richard B. "Dick" Cheney. According to Dick:"I don't think you can blame the Bush administration for the creation of those circumstances."
Aren't the Republicans all about personal responsibility? Yet, no one in the party has the cojones to stand up and say, "I fucked up". Hell, they even blamed 9/11 on Clinton. And, yes, they even blamed our current economic woes on, you guessed it, Bill Clinton. But wait, what does Cheney say when asked about Obama saying he inherited our current economic woes from Bush?
"The notion that you can just sort of throw it off on the prior administration -- that's interesting rhetoric, but I don't think anybody really cares about that."

Cheney's Death Squads Need To Be Investigated

George Bush was fond of talking about his legacy in his final days, and how history will vindicate him for his actions. But as more and more revelations leak out from his administration, things may have been worse than we imagined.
Seymour Hersh has a story about how Dick Cheney ran an assassination ring out of the office of the vice president. Extrajudicial executions are always looked back fondly by historians. Perhaps Deborah Jean Palfrey didn't hang herself.
Cheney was always up to no good in the Bush administration, from creating a special conduit of fabricated intelligence on Iraq to authorizing torture of people he wanted to confess to crimes that he himself committed. That is why we need a Truth Commission now, while the evidence is still fresh.
The Obama unchange administration has admitted they intend on defending the criminals from the previous administration against allegations they used torture. Well, they're not really allegations, since they all have admitted to it. Nor do they intend on prosecuting the Bush administration for starting an illegal war. We the people as citizens need to demand our government take action and investigate the many crimes perpetrated in our name by unjust men who used our military as their own private army to profit from war and drive the country to the point of bankruptcy, both financially and morally.

Predictions For 2009

This is the time of year when postulant people post predictions pertaining to the approaching period. Giving that most of them have as much foresight as a nearsighted mole, I thought I'd weigh in with a few predictions of my own:
1. Sometime after January 21, someone on the right will criticize Barack Obama for lack of an exit strategy in Iraq.
2. No matter who Israel provokes with it's attacks, John Bolton will use it as an excuse to attack Iran.
3."Joe The Plumber's" book will be going for free with a venti mocha latte at Barnes & Noble by Christmas 2009, while Joe himself will get his own show on Fox News.
4.When 200000 stores shut down this year, right wingers will blame it high taxes and not the offshoring of high paying manufacturing jobs.
5.Regardless of quality, The Watchmen movie, if it ever gets released, will be a huge hit. If it's good, fanboys will see it five times because it's just so awesome, and if it stinks fanboys will only see it five times, to find minor details to criticize and quibble over.
6. Dick Cheney will never stand trial for his war crimes, treason, or any of the other crimes he directed while Vice-President.
7.Republicans will continue to make racist remarks concerning Barack Obama, and then plead ignorance when decent human beings demonstrate outrage.
8.Laura Bush will divorce George, then die in a mysterious car accident.
9.Gas prices will inexplicably rise to $3.00 a gallon by summer, then fall back down to $2.00 a gallon by Autumn.
10.In spite of government bailouts, the top three automakers will still fail, as there will be no one left employed who can afford their product anymore.

Any fool can make predictions, so use the comments space to leave your predictions, if you please.

Governed By Crooks

"There is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes. The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account."
-Lt. Gen. Antonio Taguba
Dick Cheney has been making the rounds lately, openly admitting he is a war criminal who willfully and wantonly violated the Geneva Conventions. There doesn't need to be any investigation by the DoJ, when someone confesses on national television, I believe that's all the evidence needed.
However, it's unlikely that Cheney will actually be prosecuted for being a war criminal, something that puts him in the same league as Pol Pot or Adolph Hitler, because he is wealthy, and a member of the corpocracy, the people who decide that you should go to jail for smoking a joint, but for someone who authorized the wholesale slaughter of 1,297,997 Iraq civilians, and the torture of people who may be in US custody because they were sold to the US for bounties as opposed to being linked to al qaeda, 9/11, or even are any kind of terrorist.
Take Bernie Madoff, who made off with $50 billion in fraud. His ass should be sitting in jail right now, but he's not. He's under "house arrest" in one of the mansions that his scams bought him. Poor guy!
That these people should go unpunished is unconstitutional. We are guaranteed equal protection under the law, but from where I'm sitting, things don't look all that equal. In fact, it almost would appear the bigger the crime, the more likely it is that you will see any jail time. This is to encourage our children to think big, even when it comes to crime.

The Cheney Bailout

Dick Cheney canceled a campaign appearance over an abnormal heart rate, and I think, wait a minute! Dick Cheney has a heart?
Really this started me thinking for two other reasons.
One, how much does it cost the American tax payer on an annual basis to keep this decrepit old fart alive? Cheney abused his body throughout his life, yet the final costs are being borne not by Cheney himself, but by the American taxpayer. How many of these obscenely wealthy people are we going to allow to feed off the public tit?
Two, Cheney has a 18% approval rating. Unless those 18 percentile are all living in congressional candidate Marty Ozinga's district, why would he want Dick Cheney to campaign for him? The man is even more of a political pariah than George W Bush and John McCain combined, a ringing endorsement from Cheney would be more akin to a kiss of death.
Perhaps Cheney, never the great crowd drawer to begin with, was asked by the Ozinga campaign not to appear, since people have had enough of Bush and Cheney. Rather than actually have to admit it, they instead went with the "abnormal heartbeat" route.

Cheney Lies To The Coast Guard Grads, And They Cheer Like The Brainwashed Pavlovian Mutts They Are

This nation has kept the commitment declared by President Bush after 9/11: to wage this battle on the offensive, to track the enemy down until he has no place left to hide, and to stay in the fight until the fight is won.-Vice President Richard Cheney, May 21, 2008
Remember the Global War On Terror? The one that the Bush administration initiated to seek vengeance against those who perpetrated the horrendous attacks of September 11, 2001?
It seems the CIA is protecting the followers of alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed from extradition to Iran for terrorist acts they carried out there. There you have it folks, the whole notion of a "war on terror" is a sham, a fucking sham. The whole thing is designed to remove our freedoms under the guise of "reorganizing the government to protect the homeland; expanding our ability to track enemy movements and communications" when actually what they want to do is protect the corpocracy by tracking citizen movement and communication. In the meantime, we keep pushing for more sanctions against Iran, a country that has not attacked us, nor enabled the terrorists who did, to continue with impunity their worldwide campaign of bombings against those they have deemed their enemies. Quite auspiciously for Mr. Cheney, there are people who want to believe that their leaders aren't lying to them, that "The people of Iraq and Afghanistan.....(have)chosen the path of freedom and democracy. And no matter who lines up against them, they can know that America -- the country that liberated them -- still cares about their freedom.". If we really believed in democracy, we would have welcomed the election of Hamas to the Palestinian Authority as an opportunity to open a dialog that would set a course for peace in the Middle East. But the thick headed unevolved Cro-Magnon-like Down's syndrome sufferers in charge believe that stand-offs resolve themselves and dropping bombs on civilians stops the increasing ranks of those committed to acts of terror against the US.
These are the same social 'tards who are pushing for war with Iran, because they fund Hezbollah, a group which has not attacked the US, and only defended Lebanon from further incursions by the IDF into Lebanese territory. And these are the same people who are using the alQaeda linked Jundullah to commit acts of terror in Iran. Hypocrites!

Partners In Denial

Dick Cheney is deluded. With the US economy in a recession, he claims it still is the envy of the world. That disconnect from reality is denial, a common trait amongst those within the Bush administration. It's the main reason the country is screwed over now, and why this election is important, so we elect a person who is in touch with reality.
Remember Dennis Kucinich? I know a lot of people who'd like to see him have been the Democratic nominee. But he dropped out when it looked like he wasn't going to get the nomination. Same with John Edwards. So why is Hillary Clinton sticking around, even though her support is waning? Is it because she's as out of touch with reality as the Bush administration, or their heir apparent, John McCain? She certainly has displayed herself to be as racist as a Republican. Perhaps omeone should inform her that the GOP has 1200 pages of dirt to throw at Hillary (which is why they hope she gets the nomination).

No Matter What, Don't Believe The Conspiracy

The Deborah Jean Palfrey case should have been the biggest news sensation ever. Bigger than Chandra Levy, Britney Spears, Rev Wright, Mylie Cyrus and Elliot Spitzer combined. The DC madam case had intrigue, sex, abuse of power, all the tawdry little things that keep most television watchers glued to their screens.
For instance, Dick Cheney was a client, but was crossed off the list by ABC/Disney. You think that would be newsworthy,, even if it occurred while CEO of Halliburton. Or the Federal government seeking to gag Ms. Palfrey should have raised some eyebrows, and would have made for some good television. Nope.
Now, it seems that Ms. Palfrey committed suicide (I wonder, did she tie her hands and feet, duct tape her eyes and magically appear floating in a lake?) even though she stated that if she was ever found dead, it wouldn't be a suicide. Now she will be added to the list of whistleblowers who ended up dead by "suicide". How convenient these people take their own lives.

He Certainly Needs Protection

As vice-president, Dick Cheney receives secret service protection, which usually expires once he leaves office. However, Dick Cheney could keep his security detail, another perk at taxpayer's expense. We are being told because we have a "sworn enemy" who has "vowed to killl the president and vice-president", however, the truth of the matter is-Dick Cheney is afraid of the American people.
His recent remarks concerning the citizen's opposition to the war in Iraq ("So?") and his lack of concern for the over 4000 soldiers he has sent to their deaths in an illegal war ("They volunteered") have resonated as arrogant and unfeeling with the American people, and will have him go down in history as the most hated VP in the history of the US.
Regardless of the reason, it has been Cheney's actions that have generated the animosity towards him, of course, Republicans being the hypocrites they are and personal responsibility is for poor people,we will once again be forced to waste money that could be better spent somewhere else to protect this paranoiac from the responsibilities of his own actions.
But, unless there is action from congress, Cheney's protection will only be extended for six months. Let's just hope his health care isn't.

You Can't Have It Both Ways, Dick

Dick Cheney is a guy who likes to do things in secret. Makes me wonder what he's got to hide. While we're all supposed to open our lives to the whims of the NSA, Dick feels everything he does should be shielded from the eyes of the public.
Like when the The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington sued to get a look at Cheney's visitor logs, he claimed "executive privilege".
Now, while refusing to comply with an executive order on the handling of classified information, Cheney has claimed that he doesn't have to do so because under the Constitution also serves as president of the Senate and therefore has both legislative and executive duties.
uldn't have a team of advisors helping him to circumvent the laws (along with a team advisors "fixing" intelligence on Iran, and planning an attack against Iran)and would welcome transparency. Cheney feels that he is the law, all that laws don't apply to him, because if they did, he'd be waiting to join Scooter when he goes to prison. Cheney has also invoked "national security" to prevent prying eyes from seeing the laws he is breaking, but as long as Ol' Dickhead is in office, our country will never be secure.

Yep, He's That Crazy

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director Mohamed ElBaradei in an interview Friday said "I have no brief other than to make sure we don't go into another war or that we go crazy into killing each other. You do not want to give additional argument to new crazies who say 'let's go and bomb Iran'." I'm sure Mr. ElBaradei wasn't aware that during the first Bush's tenure, the neocons in his administration were referred to as "the crazies", but I'm sure he's aware that there only two countries who think a military solution is the only way to solve the problem with Iran:the US and Israel.
While Dick Cheney prefers an "end run strategy" around the president if he doesn't get his war on, Secretary of State Condi Rice says The US is not preparing for a war with Iran (we just have half of our naval fleet floating around the Persian Gulf as part of their summer vacation plans) and that Vice President Dick Cheney is in step with that policy. Never mind that chief neocon Norman Podhoretz called for the bombing of Iran now, we're supposed to trust these people's blood lust, and their never ending quest for control over the Middle east's oil reserve, at the genocide of all indigeonous people who just happen to live above it.
In the meantime Bush has called for the release of three Iranian Americans detained in Iran (while still holding five Iranian diplomats "captured" in Iraq.) Of course, when you leak that you are sending covert operatives into Iran, you can't be too surprised at the outcome.
The US is struggling in Iraq, and still hasn't finished up in Afghanistan. Only a crazy person would think that another "pre-emptive" war would be more successful than the other two. Unfortunately, Cheney is as sound as a dollar.

Dick Van Patton

The US has "gained" new intelligence that says Iran is three years away from enriching enough material for nuclear weapons, although where this report comes from isn't clear. The last NIE stated that Iran was at least ten years away, but I'm sure now the Cheney regime has replaced all intelligence officials who wouldn't file falsified reports it wouldn't be too hard figure out where this "new" intelligence came from, much the same way all the commanders in Iraq who dissented on obtainable victory were replaced by the likes of Gen. Betrayus, so Bush could still say he stands behind his commanders.
Cheney is the likely suspect for the change in intelligence (not just because he keeps getting stupider) as he was the one who had the "yellow cake" documents forged. This was what led to the whole Lewis Libby trial, Cheney, enraged that he had been called out as a liar, leaked Valerie Plame's name to the media in retaliation. And according to former British Defense Secretary Geoff Hoon, Dick Cheney called all the shots in the Iraq invasion that has led it to be the abyssmal failure that it is. Funny how somebody who had "other obligations" when he was of age to serve his country (and gain combat experience) likes playing soldier now that he doesn't have anything to risk beyond his stock portfolio.
That's why we need to get Congress to back Dennis Kucinich's impeachment legislation. If we don't, this heartless bastard will surely start another war doomed to be as abyssmal as the previous two are turning out.

Someone Still Doesn't Get It

In a speech before the Heritage Foundation today, Dick Cheney compared the Democrats stance on Iraq to the far left stance of the Democrats on Viet Nam in the seventies. While at least he is beginning to acknowledge the war in Iraq is as unwinnable as the quagmire that was Viet Nam, he still doesn't get it.
For instance, he blasted Democrats as big spending when the war in Iraq has cost the taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, with nothing more to show for it than 3297 dead US soldiers, 655,000 dead Iraqi civilians, and, no matter what Cheney may thinkl, no ground is his so-called "war on terrorism".
He also blew off the will of the people, claiming the sweeping change of last November's election as "minimal". claiming a minimum of 3600 votes would have kept the Senate iGOP hands and fewer than 100000 votes would have kept GOP control of the House (forgetting of course that it only took 57000 black voters purged from voter rolls in Florida that put his sorry soggy ass where it is today, and with that they claimed to have a mandate.
Cheney also continued on with his deluded notion that we are fighting terrorists in Iraq, when in reality, we are an occupation force dealing with an insurgency. Cheney would just as soon keep US troops there indefinitely than send "a message to our enemies that the calendar is their friend, that all they have to do is wait us out -- wait for the date certain, and then claim victory the day after." Unfortunately for Cheney, the claendar is not his friend, come January 2009 we will have a new president, and hopefully it won't be one more concerned with lining the pockets of their corporate buddies than dragging out a pointless war based on lies.
