Newt also says that if we allow "defeat" in Iraq (without defining "victory" beyond the terms of the corporacy) then
"there are not enough Marine elements in the world to evacuate the embassies that’ll come under siege."
in other words, sending fear into the hearts of the television-watchers of a reprise of Iran 1979 to gain support for staying the course on a path that leads to nowhere.
Newt also thinks the way to win over the Iraqis is to flood the region with goods that would first be given to Iraqis and then later bought with paychecks (from jobs given to them to rebuild the country, an idea he shares with Sen. Clinton), in other words turn them into wage slaves buying products from American companies that are actually manufactured in China. Lots of money made for the corpocracy, none for the American worker. He's not really suggesting democracy, just mindless consumerism, which is what passes for democracy to the corpocracy.
All this preceeds Newt's awaited announcement of his candidacy for president in 2008. He states that if the Republican party does not have a clear front runner by Labor Day, 2007, he will toss his hat in the ring. Anything to prevent the election of a candidate who doesn't bend to the will of Newt's beloved corpocracy.

Shoulda seen him on Meet the Press this morning. Just sad. Him and Delay need to get it through their heads we don't need em around hurting America anymore.
Fred,
actually, I did catch a bit of it, as much as I could stand before I started cursing and smashing my television.
So, I guess they want to use the old Santa game. Be good little Iraqis and you get lots of toys - no electricity, no medical care and no running water, but fun and games. Almost sounds like trading beads for Manhatten. I don't think the Iraqis are that unaware.
Apparently "Newtie" didn't learn his lesson last time around.
PLEASE let him be the GOP candidate for '08. . .
He is pseudo-intellectual on apolitical topics as micro-technology. Scientists say he's dreaming.
His ego is big, so he'll run.
I love how Newt is playing the I-tried-to-tell-them game. Yesterday on MTP he spent a lot of time saying "Well, if they'd have done it my way we wouldn't be in this mess in Iraq." Yeah, right, Newt, you're a military genius. What a putz.
He's not really suggesting democracy, just mindless consumerism, which is what passes for democracy to the corpocracy.
Well no surprise there, I guess. Just the same old tactics that have worked so well for them in the good 'ol U.S.A. But I really have to agree with John. Newt is another 'wet-dream' candidate.
Of course it's all about the Corporacy.
When I hear this somewhat wanting president of yours babbling about democracy and peace, and he utters those two words more than anybody around, the hypocracy of it makes me sick. He never says what he means and never means what he says, so, shouldn't there soon be an official dictionary published which would explain what really is meant by him and his ilk? Would be real nice to have neocon translated to human.
I doubt, though, that you will be lucky enough to have that yesterday's crook, Newt, to run against. If he will be the Republican candidate for the presidency, I will start worshiping God again.
HYPOCRACY = HYPOCRISY
Sorry to be raping your language!
If anything, we know from the past that Newt is a very disturbed man. If that fool was to become Prez, it would sure be a good time to think about leaving for better acres.
Donnies right...if the Newter happens, then it's time for higher climbs.
I would love for the GOP to pick a kook like Newt as their cantidate in 08, any Democrat we have could beat that pudgy little idealogue. Rudy, Mccain and others scare me they can win, Newt has zero chance of becoming President.
I think the big problem isn't that the Admin is missing a second stage plan, but rather pre-first stage plan (=read lying to go to war).
