License To Bitch

Thank whoever that tomorrow this election will be over with, and if the polls are correct, I won't have to look at Dick DeVos' shifty eyed weasel face for a long time. Right now, Granholm is leading DeVos in the latest poll by seven points. A comfortable margin, sure, but only if people get out and vote. I'm certainly not going to take Granholm's lead for granted, and besides, if I don't vote, I have no one to blame but myself.
I know of people who don't vote merely because they don't like who either major party is offering up as a candidate. Hey, guess what? This country has a lot of other parties that, if they captured the votes of all those people who didn't exercise their rights and duties as citizens, they might be able to break the two party lock on the legislative process. And if, as one non-voter rold me, they become as corrupt as the major parties, you can vote for someone else next time around. Keep voting against corruption and eventually, they'd get the message.
Personally, I'd like to see the Greens and the Libertarians make some inroads, I'd take either one over the Republicans. Right now, the Republican dirty trick squad is hard at work, trying their damnedest to misinform voters. So much for the Republican Christian base and not bearing false witness. Another dirty trick is call Democrats posing as Democratic candidates, then piss them off so they don't vote for the Democratic candidate. They must have a clue Americans have no interest in what the Republicans are offering, or what they have given us in the last twelve years of Republican dominance in Congress. In New Mexico a judge has ordered the Republican party from calling voters with hispanic surnames to tell them the polling place has been moved. Desparate people are reduced to desparate measures, I guess. I'd be ashamed to call myself a Republican if I were them, but apparently, they have no shame. Or ethics or morals either.
DON"T FORGET TO VOTE TOMORROW!
*UPDATE*Here is a list of Democratic candidates being harassed by Republican ROBO calls.

I already absentee voted, as did my hubby, but we are very cautiously optimistic that all predictions indicate a Dem sweep across Ohio. Thank the stars... but when we have a convicted felon as Governor, and a copped to a plea Congressman Ney, something had to wake up Ohioans.

me 2 - already voted...and didn't fall for the robot calls...they are too automated to be real...

VOTE for PEACE!!!

The dirty tricks, it seems, will continue right through the election. Stay vigilant people and if anything happens in your district. Document, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT!!!

I've voted too...and it better count. I thought absentee would be protected, but I guess it is subject to the dark side too.

I also know people who don't vote because they don't want to be called for jury duty. I've made it a point to never, ever discuss politics or government with these people. When they complain about politicians, taxes, our screwed up government, etc., I cut them off and tell them they don't have the right to have an opinion because they don't participate in our democracy.

No vote - no voice.

Lew,
I voted even though this one party system makes me sick and the rigging makes me sick. If I did not vote, I would have no right to bitch.

I voted for a lot of "Libraians," as hubby and I called them, if it was an office that had only a dem, libraian or a rethug, especially if the rethug vote was a foregone conclusion.

We have to keep our eyes on this nationally and prepare to protest nationally if things are suspicious.

I am telling you, I saw a guy on TV here in Austin, wearing tie-dye, long hair and buying a burrito in a real old-Austin part of town, and he said, "I am just not that interested because it is not a National election!"

What the fuck? Not National? The parties that give the Prez his mandate are not national elections?

One-party system or not, this is national, this is important, and any lazy mofo that did not fight for their right to vote can just move on to a country where they get the dictator they deserve.

Gawd, I have been riled all morning, and I am no big fan of this one-party system. I am a huge fan of exercising my right to try to save this nation from a den of grand larcenists and giving it into control of the petty thieves.

That f---ing Ken Mehlman was just on saying he was a Jewish American and that Jewish Americans and women should be real scared of what the jihadists are going to do when they take over our country. Women and Jews need to go vote Rethug, because they will protect them from the Jihadists!!!!

let the Republican excuse making begin... I suppose Bush doesnt know what to do now. he may actually have viable plans. One thing is certain... Rumsfeld needs to go, and may be pushed out.

Granholm wins! Thank heavens Michigan's sane voters turned out at the polls. Our state's moral compass is alive and well.

It's over! You can open your eyes now, Lew! It's a bright new day!

What Neil said! We need your dose of sanity on the situation. How do you see this thing shaping up? Hello...Lew?

My 19 yr old daughter watched the first debate between Granholm and DeVos and without any prodding from her liberal father, made the observation that DeVos is a Bush clone.
