I'm an old conspiracy theorist, which I may have gotten from my father, who was a member of the John Birch Society, and would have regular meetings at our house showing films painting the Beatles as a communist plot to undermine America's youth by introducing them to wild negro music, effeminate long hair, and recreational drugs. Later, in the seventies, he received newsletters connecting then President Jimmy Carter to Phil Walden and cocaine trafficking. You might say I was born with a tin foil hat on my head.
My latest conspiracy theory is that the US media is running a psyop on the American people, much as it did in the run up to our illegal invasion of Iraq, with the target this time being, of course, Iran. This follows the same pattern of disinformation, designed to create a justification in the mind of television watchers, to garner support for an all out attack against a regime, while not my favorite on Earth, still has not been found to be doing the things that the US government and corporate media are accusing them of doing.
Many conspiracy theories start out from facts, as an instance, the fact that then Congressman Gerald Ford admittedly moved a bullet wound on JFK's official autopsy report to fit the single-shooter "magic bullet" story is the jumping off point for many theorists much the same way that kerosene (jet fuel) and asbestos (which lined much of the World Trade Centers)do not burn hot enough to melt steel frames is the jumping off point for a lot of Truthers who do not believe the "official" conspiracy presented by the government. This is the same government which then used these attacks as an excuse to invade Iraq using the lie that country was somehow involved, all the while aided by a compliant corporate media that, rather investigate any claims put forth, instead repeated them verbatim ad nauseum. But if you see any kind of conspiracy there, you're some kind of whacko!

Yes, There Was An Oil Bubble

Back in May of last year, with four dollar a gallon gas prices staring us in the face, I asked the question, "Is There A Gas Bubble?" Well, now I have the answer. Yes, there was a gas bubble, and it was caused, in part, by corporate criminals at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Greenberger, who wanted more regulation while he was at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, not less, says it all happened when Enron was the seventh largest corporation in the United States. "This was when Enron was riding high. And what Enron wanted, Enron got."

Asked why they wanted a deregulated market in oil futures, Greenberger said, "Because they wanted to establish their own little energy futures exchange through computerized trading. They knew that if they could get this trading engine established without the controls that had been placed on speculators, they would have the ability to drive the price of energy products in any way they wanted to take it."

"When Enron failed, we learned that Enron, and its conspirators who used their trading engine, were able to drive the price of electricity up, some say, by as much as 300 percent on the West Coast," he added.

"Is the same thing going on right now in the oil business?" Kroft asked.

"Every Enron trader, who knew how to do these manipulations, became the most valuable employee on Wall Street," Greenberger said.

But some of them may now be looking for work. The oil bubble began to deflate early last fall when Congress threatened new regulations and federal agencies announced they were beginning major investigations. It finally popped with the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and the near collapse of AIG, who were both heavily invested in the oil markets. With hedge funds and investment houses facing margin calls, the speculators headed for the exits.

There were no shortages last year (certainly not a shortage of greedy bastards ready to rip off Americans), nor was there a dramatic rise in demand or consumption. And the irony is, when these bastards went under because they could no longer reach into our wallets because the government was threatening regulation, Wall Street panicked and the Congress caved into their demands for more of our money. John McCain even suspended his campaign to help the crooks help themselves to more of our money. Nice.

No Matter What, Don't Believe The Conspiracy

The Deborah Jean Palfrey case should have been the biggest news sensation ever. Bigger than Chandra Levy, Britney Spears, Rev Wright, Mylie Cyrus and Elliot Spitzer combined. The DC madam case had intrigue, sex, abuse of power, all the tawdry little things that keep most television watchers glued to their screens.
For instance, Dick Cheney was a client, but was crossed off the list by ABC/Disney. You think that would be newsworthy,, even if it occurred while CEO of Halliburton. Or the Federal government seeking to gag Ms. Palfrey should have raised some eyebrows, and would have made for some good television. Nope.
Now, it seems that Ms. Palfrey committed suicide (I wonder, did she tie her hands and feet, duct tape her eyes and magically appear floating in a lake?) even though she stated that if she was ever found dead, it wouldn't be a suicide. Now she will be added to the list of whistleblowers who ended up dead by "suicide". How convenient these people take their own lives.

Conservative Windbag Flaunts The Law Again

In the Michigan primaries this year, I had three choices, if indeed I did choose to vote. I could have voted for Sen. Clinton, or I could have voted uncommitted, neither which would have mattered since the Michigan delegation won't be seated at the Democratic Convention for violation party laws and having it's primary early. My third choice was to vote Republican.
I voted for Ron Paul.
Unlike Rush Limbaugh who has been asking listeners to break the law,cross party lines, and commit voter fraud, the only way Republicans can win, I wasn't breaking the law. As I have explained before, I am a registered Republican. Happy with his results in Ohio extending the Democratic primary, Rush is now asking Shittoheads in Pennsylvania to do the same. Dubbing it "Operation Chaos", the republican propagandist will do any underhanded trick to keep the party in control of the White House, even though the ones in charge now have nearly completely decimated the whole country.
But if you dig deeper, this is really a method to keep the White House in the hands of the Council on Foreign Relations of which Senators Clinton, McCain and Obama are all members, as well as Rush Limbaugh himself. But McCain and Clinton are drinking buddies who bonded in Estonia three years ago, probably while Senator Clinton was dodging sniper fire. Senator Obama, a junior member, probably lacks the alcohol tolerance that the other two senators have, which would make him no fun at Russian summit meetings where the latest president there could drink him under the table.
So now Mr. Law and Order doctor shopping drug smuggling and vote fraud perpetrating Rush has broken the law again. There probably isn't a cell that can hold him, literally.

As It Turns Out, Oliver Stone Was Right

Every once in a while, Wilbur gets in a question asking mood, and myself, compelled to tell the truth, or at least as I see it, try to give him the correct answer. Not the "politically correct", just the answer the best suits the evidence.
So here's a story you probably won't be reading in the newspaper, or being run repeatedly on any cable news outfit (not that I would know, not having cable). As it turns out E Howard Hunt made an audio tape laying the Kennedy assassination at the feet of rogue elements within the CIA. These people, Cord Meyers, David Phillips, David Morales, and Hunt himself were directed by LBJ to eliminate JFK because:

They saw him as soft on Communism, soft on Castro, guilty of sending their friends to their torture and deaths during the Bay of Pigs fisasco and a bad risk for the future of the country. They also did not respect him as a person for his philandering and other behaviors which had yet to become public knowledge but would have been known to them.

So next time Wilbur asks me who killed John Kennedy, I'll have an honest answer, albeit one he won't be reading in the history books at school anytime soon. Lucien Sartie, the Corsican born French hit man who fired the head shot from the Grassy Knoll.

Thank God We Live In A Country Like This?????

I wanna move to New York City! Evidently, the crime rate there is so low that the New York City Police had time to spy on antiwar activists for a full year before the 2004 convention. I guess the 889 murders, 3,636 rapes and 68,034 burglaries were solved immediately, so in their spare time, the police traveled across the country, to Canada and Europe to conduct covert observations of those who planned to protest at the Republican convention that year. This is reminiscent of 1972, when J. Edgar Hoover and the Nixon White House began covert operations against John Lennon over fears he would disrupt the Republican Convention of that year in Florida.
America is rapidly evolving (or is it devolving?) into a corporatic dictatorship, while our soldiers fight and die for "freedom and democracy" in places that really don't seem interested in the principles at all, these same freedoms are evaporating here at home. You think I'm kidding?
Consider the case of Dr. Charles "Tom" Sell, a forensic dentist who has been held by our government for the last six years on charges of Medicaid fraud (a crime that would net him three years if convicted)while it argues with it's right to medicate him (Because he's delusional)so he can stand trial. I guess they can't waterboard everybody...yet.
And just what are Dr. Sell's delusions? Well he believed the government conspired to start a fire at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco. His beliefs stem from the fact that he was hired (as a forensic dentist) to indentify charred remains days before the fatal fire that killed 81 people and has the records to prove it! Another reason Dr. Sell is not ready for trial is because he's seems to be preoccupied with the abuse at the federal prison hospital in Springfield Missouri, and the federal judge refuses to release the videotape that Sell claims will vindicate him.
So the next time some troll tells me the last time they checked we were a free country and people could do and say as they pleased, I will have to agree with them. We are free to do and say as we please, as long as it's something that doesn't upset the corpocracy.

Tin Foil Hat Time

Why would "terror" suspect Jose Padilla indentify with his military captors? Is it because he was part of a series of sleeper cells of US soldiers recruited by groups with alleged ties to alQaeda? Is it a coincidence that Padilla and Timothy McVeigh were in Florida at the same time alQaeda was creating a finance network there?
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City accomplice Terry Nichols claims that McVeigh was directed by a high ranking FBI official in the plot to blow up a federal building, Larry Potts (who has denied the allegations). And if you wonder why the FBI is behind something like this, ask yourself why would the FBI allow the 1993 WTC bombing to go off?
Also, were the middle eastern men reported by Jayna Davis as being complicit in the OKC bombing Iraqis as she has suggested, or were they from another middle eastern nation linked to 9/11? More importantly, why does John Does #2 not look anything like Terry Nichols, but more like "dirty bombing" suspect Jose Padilla?
