Ah, for last year, during the primaries, when the most important issue facing the United States was how to properly display your patriotism by wearing flag lapel pins. Love of America outweighed every issue, from dealing with the impending mortgage crisis, reining in gas prices, or formulating a safe and sane exit strategy from Iraq. And no one loved America, or so they claimed, than the Republican party.
Now, it's a different story. Almost half of Georgia Republicans would like to secede from the nation. Kind of hard to love that flag when you're no longer part of it, isn't it folks?
So, are they all sore losers? Do they think that John McCain has a better handle on things and he and Sarah Palin would have done a better job of dealing with the steaming shitpile that the previous administration dumped on Obama's doorstep? Have they become the America hating terrorists they feared not too long ago? Has not their God equipped them with the strength of character and courage to deal with tumultuous times?
Naw, they're all just a bunch of pussies who can't take the heat. Any one from the left who would have suggested secession during the Bush/Cheney regime would have been rounded up and hung as a traitor. I say we give all these wusses their own state (like Mississippi) and be done with them.

Yeah, And I'm Like Buddha

The difference between the right and left is the level of their delusions, with the right being better prone to believing their own bullshit (With the exception of Hillary Clinton, who hasn't seem to have received the message. It's over. When Barack Obama can attract 80,000 people to a rally in Oregon, over half the state, and you can only muster a thousand mullet headed mingers to a state you plan on carrying, well, as Stan Lee might put it, 'nuff said). Just today, I had a conversation with a man concerning the high gas prices who said be grateful I'm not buying bottled water by the gallon. I told him I don't need bottle water to drive to work, and that right wing meme is such crap you can smell the stink from here.
Yes, there are roughly 30% or less people who still think that Bush is doing a fantastic job, and why shouldn't they? Not because he is, but because to admit otherwise would crack the facade of their lives enough for all those horrors to flood out. Just keep humming, popping your Xanax and watching Fox News, and everything will work out. Just wait.
How much more evidence do you need? Take Sue Everhart, state chairwoman for the Georgia GOP. She actually believes that John McCain is kind of like Jesus. I think I remember that episode. That was the one where Jesus became a fighter pilot and dropped tons of Napalm on the civilians in North Vietnam. Or the time Jesus called Mary Magdalene a cunt. Yeah, I can see the similarities, McCain with his PTSD, lashing out at critics and colleagues alike, Jesus, uh, singing "Bomb Iran", just for laughs (well, Mike Huckabee thought it was funny, and we all know what a great sense of humor he has)These kind of people have gone way past drinking of the Kool-Aid straight into full-fledged addiction to that sugary and artificially flavored fruit drink.
And how does Ms. Everhart think McCain and the Christian saviour are alike?
"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross,He never denounced God, either."
Well, I'm sure at some point Sen. McNasty probably took the Lord's name in vain.

MCCain Makes taxpayer Funded Photo Op Stop In Iraq

Ol' Flapjack Johnny McCain made a surprise unannounced visit to Iraq to prove that the surge is working. He proudly showed how safe the streets of Baghdad are to a US senator surrounded by a gaggle of reporters, a squadron of US troops and a flak jacket. Of course, the dead child at the bottom of the picture didn't have any of that, so the streets of Iraq weren't safe, and now the child lies lifeless, mourned by parents who only want the nightmare to end. It's sad, true, but it's a sacrifice Sen. McCain is willing to make.
Sen. McCain's trip to Iraq was merely a taxpayer funded photo op for his candidacy, thanks Johnny-Boy, money that could be better spent here at home was instead used to further your goal of, well, I'm sure you have one (I mean besides making sure all the Republican donors get to keep getting rich and fat from the taxpayers wallet).
Talking out both sides of his ass, McCain first made the point that there's been a drop (until recently) of violence in Iraq since the surge, which proves it's working, right, except he worries that insurgents might try to influence the November presidential election with increased attacks in Iraq, which implies that the surge isn't working. You can't have it both ways Johnny.
(dedicated to DBK, who asked us not to beat up on the Democrats more than we do McCain whilst he is in transit)

Rebumblicans Bumble Again
Do you know what is the proper thing to do as the National Anthem is played?
Does one stand straight up, or do they put their hands over their hearts?

If you answered put your hand over your heart, you're a fucking idiot, and probably some mouth breathing television watching Rebumblican as well. You put your hand over your heart when you're saying the pledge of allegiance.
Once again, the jingoistic and chauvinistic Rebumblicans, who have pretty much lost the election due to their choice of a philandering, lobbyist linked flip flopper have decided that the election hinges not on who has ideas to change the direction the country is going in but who is more patriotic. What's more important? Wearing a silly flag pin on your lapel, or getting our troops out of the quagmire that is Iraq?
The problem is that there are more people worried about whether Obama adopts what is their own ignorant idea of which is the proper stance during the Star Spangled Banner than who is going to do something about the economy, health care, or continuing the unsuccessful Bush foreign policy of not speaking to our enemies. If the American Idiot is stupid enough to fall for this neolithic neocon ruse, then it's time we split the country up and give all those morons Texas.
